Posted in on Wed, Feb 26, 2014

OSHA has proposed extending by 3 years the deadline for operator certification under its August 2010 standard establishing requirements for cranes and derricks used in construction work.  The new deadline would be November 10, 2017.  Until that date, employers still have added duties under the standard to ensure that crane operators are trained and competent to operate the crane safely.  Comments are due March 12, 2014.   http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2014-02-10/html/2014-02579.htm
