NIOSH Study Reinforces Connection Between Fire Fighting and Cancer

A NIOSH study on mortality and cancer incidence in career fire fighters has demonstrated an elevated risk of cancer compared to the general U.S. population.  Published in Occupational & Environmental Medicine, the study population included fire fighters Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco.  The study’s abstract can be found at http://oem.bmj.com/content/early/2013/10/14/oemed-2013-101662.abstract.
