Posted in on Fri, Apr 5, 2013

The PtD Program is a key safety initiative of NIOSH.  A variety of ASSE members were involved in its beginnings and continue to support its efforts.  More information on the program can be found at  http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/ptd/

From Paul A. Schulte, PhD, Director, NIOSH Education and Information Division –

I am pleased to announce that Pamela Heckel has taken the position as temporary Coordinator of the Prevention through Design (PtD Program).  Pamela has a Doctorate in Civil Engineering and Masters of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Vanderbilt University.  Before joining the PtD Program in 2010, she worked for General Electric, The Boeing Company, and the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company.  Pamela will serve in this temporary position and eventually a position will be posted for a permanent Coordinator.  We expect that Pamela will continue to move the PtD Initiative forward and with your help continue its impact.
