New OSHA Region 6 Administrator

John M. Hermanson was recently named regional administrator for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Region 6, which encompasses the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Hermanson started his career with OSHA in 1976 as an industrial hygienist in the Indianapolis Area Office shortly after completing his graduate studies at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. While in OSHA’s Chicago region, he became the assistant administrator for enforcement programs, overseeing enforcement operations for the six Great Lakes states. He also has served as the agency’s area director in Illinois, California and Arizona. Hermanson was deputy regional administrator for OSHA’s Denver region and served as regional administrator in Philadelphia prior to his appointment to Dallas.  From DOL Newsletter
