New Law Regulating Handling of Toxic Drugs in Washington State

Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire has signed into law a bill (SB 5594) to regulate the handling of hazardous drugs.  The law requires the Director of Labor and Industries to adopt requirements for handling antineoplastic and other hazardous drugs in health care facilities regardless of the setting but with input from hospitals, organizations that represent health care personnel and other stakeholders.
