MSHA Proposed Rule to Lower Miner Exposure to Respirable Coal Mine Dust/Continuous Personal Dust Monitors

Posted in on Tue, Apr 5, 2011
MSHA has requested comments on the proposed rule published in the
Federal Register on October 19, 2010, addressing Lowering Miners'
Exposure to Respirable Coal Mine Dust, Including Continuous Personal
Dust Monitors.  MSHA states that the proposed rule would improve
health protections for coal miners by reducing their occupational
exposure to respirable coal mine dust and lowering the risk that
they will suffer material impairment of health or functional
capacity over their working lives.  Comments are due May 2, 2011.
