MSHA Issues POV Final Rule
MSHA has revised its regulation for pattern of violations (POV). According to MSHA, “The final rule simplifies the existing POV criteria, improves consistency in applying the POV criteria, and more effectively achieves the Mine Act’s statutory intent. It also encourages chronic safety violators to comply with the Mine Act and MSHA’s health and safety standards. MSHA has also developed a POV Single Source Page that previews a POV Monitoring Tool that also will go into effect on March 25.
