Mine Victim Families Speak at Committee Field Hearing

From House Committee on Education and Labor –
On May 24, Chairman Miller and other Committee members traveled to Beckley, West Virginia to hear from family members of miners killed in the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion. An April 5 explosion in Massey Energy’s Upper Big Branch Mine in Montcoal, West Virginia killed 29 miners. It was the worst mine disaster in this country in nearly four decades.
