Join the ASSE Government Affairs Discussion on LinkedIn

The question often comes up whether ASSE asks its members what to say when government affairs comments are developed. Actually, comments are developed based on the views of members on the Government Affairs Committee with input from members of appropriate practice specialties and standards committees. Those comments are then approved by the Council on Professional Affairs and the ASSE Board’s Executive Committee. These leaders are elected and appointed to represent members’ broad interests in setting ASSE public policy.

But, now, there’s an opportunity on LinkedIn to share your views with Government Affairs when ASSE is considering comments. On LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=2800972 you’ll find a Government Affairs discussion group on various issues, including upcoming opportunities for ASSE to comment on government OSH actions.

Right now, there’s an opportunity to tell ASSE what to say to OSHA on its proposed interpretation on the economic feasibility of engineering controls in hearing protection, at http://www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&gid=2800972&type=member&item=32791478&qid=7fe8b1f8-82b4-47e7-82a9-b0c525145b38&goback=%2Egmp_2800972. A LinkedIn button to the discussion is also on the ASSE’s Government and Professional Affairs page.
