EPA Proposed Rule on Non-Mercury Industrial Thermometers

Today EPA is publishing a proposed rule to allow the use of non-mercury containing industrial thermometers in areas such as petroleum refining, power generation, and testing for vehicle emissions (76 FR 2056).  The following link will take you to the Agency’s mercury Web page:  www.epa.gov/mercury  The entry entitled “January 2011″ in the “Mercury News” box contains a link to the FR notice.  EPA will accept public comments on the proposal until March 14, 2011.  For questions, please contact Robert Courtnage, in the National Program Chemicals Division in EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, at courtnage.robert@epa.gov.
