Posted in on Wed, Feb 26, 2014

California’s Interagency Working Group on Refinery Safety released its final report with recommendations for state actions intended to prevent major incidents like the August 2012 pipe failure at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, which prompted the working group’s creation. The report recommends making inherently safer technologies mandatory for the 21 refineries in the state, as well as root cause analysis after significant incidents.  The  Report can be found at http://www.calepa.ca.gov/Publications/Reports/2014/RefineryRpt.pdf.
