Platform Statement

As Region Affairs Vice President, I will provide support for Region and chapter leadership to enable them to successfully increase member engagement and chapter effectiveness.  The key to the Society is our membership and their first connection to the Society is generally through the chapters.  My goal is to work with the regional vice president to share lessons learned and implement proven and successful activities that serve to engage, involve and educate our membership.  As our membership receives the services they seek from the Society, the society will in turn consistently reach its goals.

I have been inspired by chapter and regional leadership that I have had the opportunity to meet during my tenure as a chapter officer.  During that time, I have witnessed successes in regions and chapters and taken those lessons to implement in my own chapter.  I’d like to implement this on the national level through our regions where ideas are exchanged and templates for success are created.

ASSE is sometimes the best kept secret. I would like to let the world know about ASSE and what we are achieving. This will be done by increasing the visibility of ASSE in the community by collaborating with ASSE public relations department to publicize and share stories locally and regionally about the work of ASSE regions, chapters and members. We will also provide the resources and support to the student sections to give them insight to the Society and build a desire in them to hold a lifelong membership with ASSE.

As a Society, we can build off of our strengths of organizational structure, professional development, resources and training, and student engagement to ensure the Society thrives and grows.  As Regional Affairs Vice President, I will focus on helping to lay the foundation for our regions and chapters to create beneficial long-term member experience.
