Platform Statement

ASSP is comprised of OSH professionals from various backgrounds, education levels, and spanning all levels of the organization. The most recent ASSP annual report provided an insight to why todays’ OSH professional joins ASSP. professional development, build their professional network; seek to learn best practices; and seek to support their profession.

As ASSP continues to seek ways to interact and engage with the membership to promote growth and member engagement, I want to support ASSP recognizing it’s diverse, semi-virtual, regional disperse membership. ASSP must also recognize the diverse voices and persons who they serve and how to ensure they are represented across the Society and supported in their membership and volunteer service. As an ASSP Board Member, I will embody the desire for returning value to the diverse membership, maintain knowledge and understanding of board governance and operations, and connect with members where they are.

My mission throughout my ASSP service has been to inspire, empower, and impact my fellow professionals through meaningful training, collaborative leadership, and purposeful connections as evident in my varied service with ASSP through the local chapter, Common Interest Group and on ASSP committees. The experience has afforded me the opportunity to understand the uniqueness of each person’s membership and how Society can connect and engage all members wherever they enter and serve within ASSP. In accordance with the 2022-2023 ASSP Strategic Goals, the Board will focus on Governing Forward; Revitalize and Refocus; and Invest in Growth. An ASSP Board Member, I would be able to have a strategic eye to shifting demographics and future needs of the member; understand how to balance the delivery of member value through learning opportunities while balancing the profitability of ASSP; and passion for the purpose and history of ASSP.
