Platform Statement

I believe the backbone of any non-profit organization are the volunteers that provide their time and talents to help others.  If everyone could volunteer just a little bit think of how much more the ASSE could do?  I think that most people want to help.  They just need to be asked!  Some of our chapters are not doing as well as others.  I would like to try and get all of the Area B Region VI chapters to the Silver status level if not Gold.  This can be accomplished with a little help from each of the members.  We joined this great organization to learn, network, and hopefully pass on a legacy to others.  What good is all of that knowledge we have if it is not shared with someone?  I want to not necessarily increase our membership attendance at meetings, but get more membership involvement.  We need to find common ground on the items that interest most of our members, not just a select few.  We need to find ways to connect and communicate with the next generation of safety leaders.  I work in the Southern area of our region and can provide the type of assistance to our Southern Chapters required to support our membership.
