Platform Statement

I have been a dedicated volunteer leader for over twenty years in a variety of capacities, including Chapter President, Region Vice President, Vice President Council on Region Affairs, and currently completing my third year as Director at Large on the ASSP Board.

The last few years have been challenging for all of us. During my current term on the Board, collectively we have been challenged to make decisions to protect our organization during the craziest time in our lives, our annual PDC was shifted to virtual,  subsequent PDCs became a hybrid model, a recession budget was mandated, and governance was addressed. However, serving during these times has also been an honor. We have managed through the next phase of governance review and have created an Advisory Group who will identify opportunities for our organization to bring greater value to each one of us. During the darkest times, we as an organization have been able to pivot to meet each other virtually, share best practices on managing through a pandemic, and meeting membership needs.

I will continue to champion cross council initiatives to increase partnerships and remove silos. I will champion opportunities to provide our volunteer leaders with the best resources and skills development to successfully lead our member communities and to incorporate these experiences for the betterment of their employers, Society and our profession. Working together, we will not only stay relevant but will provide cutting edge information and resources to develop our capabilities.

If elected as your Senior Vice President, I will continue to foster opportunities to lead our membership into the future and help us grow as a Society. I am dedicated to raise the value of our profession, in all that we do for our employers as well as our commitment to ensure employees go home to their loved ones each day. I will also listen, because your voice is important, and you have my commitment to continue to be an advocate for all. I would be honored and humbled by your vote to serve you and the Board as Senior Vice President. We are ASSP family! Thank you!
