Platform Statement

The Regional Operating Committee (ROC) guides and mentors Chapters through leadership, assistance and consultation. The Regional Vice President, with the Regional Operating Committee, provides this service to the Region’s Chapters and their corresponding Sections through communication, mentoring and support.

Region I is at a point of transitioning into a Region with Area Directors. This transition will require someone with Society knowledge, planning and leadership. As RVP, I would affect and direct the transition through strategic planning and execution, supportive leadership of Chapters through communication and on-site visits, and deploy a regional model with Area Directors with efficiency. As we consult with Chapters regarding the best way forward, we will develop a model of volunteerism that respects our member’s time while delivering quality resources.

Meeting as a Region is important to further develop knowledge about Society and all its resources, communicate and network, and share lessons learned to build upon. This is also a time for the Region to prioritize what Chapter’s need and work toward that end.

ASSE is a strong professional organization in service to safety, health and environmental professionals. As a Society, we are and represent a diverse profession and group of SH&E professionals. While strong and diverse, we stay that way through change. It is through this time of change that I look forward to being your Regional Vice President. Thank you for your vote.
