Greg Bordner, P.E., CSP, CPE



Greg Bordner, P.E., CSP, CPE, is a Senior Analyst, EHS Operations with Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA).  Greg holds a Master of Science Degree in Safety, Security and Emergency Management from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Science Degree in Systems Management from University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  Prior to joining TMS, he worked for Firth Rixson, a metal forging company manufacturing seamless metal rings for the aerospace and oil industry, as the Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Manager.  Before joining Firth Rixson, Greg worked approximately 18 years for TABC (a division of Toyota) as Environmental Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance Department Manager and Environmental Engineering, Health and Safety Manger.  Greg’s career started as a Project Manager in the United States Air Force working in Research and Development of advanced weapon systems, including Strategic Defense Initiative and Small ICBM programs.  He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in California, Arizona, Kentucky, and Texas, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and a Certified Permitting Professional (CPP) with the South Coast Air Quality Management District.  Greg also served as Delegate, President Elect and President of the ASSE Los Angeles Chapter.

Platform Statement

I appreciate the opportunity to run for the Risk Management/Insurance Assistant Administrator position.  My goal is to continue to build and improve on the services and support that we offer to our members.  We need to identify what professional development and education our member’s want and then develop plans to meet their expectations along with innovative ways to provide them this information.  We need to provide relevant and real-time resources and best practices to our members to support them in this endeavor.  The risk assessment process is truly a proactive approach to improve the safety and work environment for all workers and needs to be a leading metric for companies and embraced by leaders at all levels of an organization.
