Platform Statement

As RVP for Region V my vision for moving forward involves working as a servant leader for all of our   members and volunteer chapter leaders. That service role may involve any number of roles including:  facilitator, sounding board, advocate, or mentor. Whatever the role, I pledge to work with your chapter’s volunteer leaders to bring improvements and efficiencies and to build consensus within the region as we look to have an impact in the larger world of occupational safety and health.

For my first term I shared the following as pillars on which to guide my actions.
1)  Serving as an active listener to help ensure our chapters and region build on the great work of the volunteer leaders who preceded us.
2) Enhancing networking between the chapters so that your great ideas can spread.
3)  Working closely with chapters to ensure we effectively recruit the next generation of safety innovators and champions into the ranks of Region V.
I pledge to stay the course using these pillars again as a guide.

Born in Wisconsin, I spent my youth up Illinois and then moved to Missouri which has been home for many years. With members of my extended family living in all 9 of the states in Region V I have traveled to all. Having spent all of my life in the mid-west I have an affinity for the people who call this region home. The values I learned living here which shaped me personally and professionally include: an appetite for hard work, a desire to help others, a love of lifelong learning, fairness, persistence, and most importantly a sense of humor.  As RVP for our region I pledge to bring these values to the role as we work together to enhance our profession.
