It is a privilege and honor to run for a second term as your Regional Vice-President.  I look forward to building upon our legacy of achievement as we expand opportunities for participation, leadership, outreach and recognition.

As your representative, I will continue advocating your interests and concerns to the Society Board of Directors and working diligently to support initiatives that add value to our profession and to the members we serve.   This includes forming additional groups, sections and chapters so that all members have an opportunity to bond with like-minded professionals.   We will also reach out to newcomers and help them move up the ladder of success by providing fresh developmental/networking experiences, and a new Regional mentoring program.

I hope to see you in person as I continue to attend chapter meetings and events throughout the region to connect directly with members and local leaders.    Starting this year, we will be exploiting technology to strengthen our communications and to touch base through additional means including social networking and virtual meetings.   We’re also expanding our regional professional development conference to include additional learning opportunities along with a new leadership seminar to prepare our chapter leaders for the future.

Our chapters have a reputation for developing leading edge programs and meaningful relationships with their members and the communities they serve.  But we won’t rest on our laurels.  We want all of our chapters to prosper and I’m committed to providing the additional support and resources necessary to make it happen.

Our vision at ASSE is to be the premier organization and resource for those who work to protect people, property and the environment.   And with your active engagement and support, we will fulfill that vision.   This is your Society and I invite you to join me in making a difference.
