Platform Statement

I’m excited about the opportunity to serve as your RVP for Region VIII and to add some real value to our membership, to network with some of the best in the business, and to support and lead our volunteer area and chapter teams.

I will continue to bring the experience and success achieved by the Western PA chapter and in the Keystone Area to Region VIII.  This chapter year will prove important to establishing a consistent framework for which to build a strong Area Operating Committee (AOC) to represent our nearly 6000 Region VIII members.  I plan to create a more intimate level of support at the Area level with 4 engaged Area Directors that meets our personal AND professional needs (less travel and time from home and less burden on your paid position).

A strong AOC can serve to bring consistency to its member chapters and student sections by delivering what each member wants to see in their chapter and their chapter’s leadership.  They include a better use of available technologies (new chapter websites with better information, chapter email address); enhanced communication about the current chapter and industry happenings; 3-6 month calendar of upcoming events; and engaging/supporting our student members.

All of this interaction aims (1) to grow the chapter by marketing each chapter’s successes and making membership worthwhile, (2) to, with the collective wisdom of our AOC, make all our Region VIII professional chapters and student sections more successful and (3) to obtaining top level performance  for all Region 8 chapters.

This is what I bring to Region VIII – a commitment to simplify and deliver value-added solutions to our chapters and their leadership, regardless of chapter size.
