Kathy A. Seabrook, CSP, CMIOSH
Kathy A. Seabrook, CSP, is president and founder of Global Solutions Inc., a global SH&E management consultancy for midsize private to global multinational companies. She is best known for her work in strategic/global SH&E management and aligning safety and sustainability within the context of a business culture. Kathy is a recognized international speaker, leadership educator and seminar presenter, having published in several books including, ASSE’s Safety Professional’s Handbook. ISHN magazine named her a 2012 “Power 101 Leader of the Environmental Health and Safety World;” EHS Today identified her as a “Guru” in SH&E and one of “The 50 People Who Most Influenced EHS in 2010-2011”; and she is one of the 100 Women Making a Difference in Safety according to ASSE’s Women in Safety Engineering (WISE) Common Interest Group. Kathy is also a chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and received a B.S. in Chemistry from James Madison University.
Kathy’s ASSE leadership experience spans the chapter, region, practice specialty, common interest group, council and Board of Directors (BOD) levels. She currently is president elect and has served as senior vice president, chaired the Council on Professional Affairs Sustainability Taskforce, Council on Member and Region Affairs Global Committee, Council on Practices and Standards International Practice Specialty (IPS) and WISE membership committees, and she serves on the advisory committee for IPS and the IOSH International Group. Kathy served two terms on the BOD as vice president, Council on Practices and Standards, was on the Society Strategic Planning, Bylaws (chaired), Professional Development Conference (PDC) Planning, Business of Safety and Admissions committees. She has served on chapter executive and region operating committees, was the first administrator/founding member of IPS and ASSE’s U.K. Section. She serves/served on the ANSI Z10 and OHSAS 18002 committees (respectively) and chaired the ASSE International Membership Taskforce. Kathy has represented ASSE at the NIOSH Green Jobs workshop, Singapore Institute of Safety Officers, Society of Human Resource Managers and NAEM national conferences, UN Commission on the Status of Women and on the ASSE China Safety Professionals Delegation.
Kathy received ASSE’s IPS Safety Professional of the Year, President’s and Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Volunteer Service awards, and IOSH’s Distinguished Service Award.
