Seminar Description:
As safety professionals, we place a high value on technical competency, but we sometimes tend to undervalue the importance of good communication skills. For a safety program to truly be successful, information must be effectively transmitted to a variety of persons, often in multiple formats. In this seminar, you will learn the basic precepts of
communications, and then will examine how safety professionals transmit messages orally, with the written word, with data, and even through the mass media. Upon completion of the seminar, participants will have a better appreciation for the importance of good communication skills, and will be armed with some techniques that can be readily applied when they get back to their places of work.
Learn to
· Use communication delivery techniques that will advance your safety message in your organization
· Improve your ability to communicate with your staff, peers and management
· Deliver critical information at the time of a crisis to members of your organization and the media
