This presentation will provide an overview of the principles, procedures and efficacy of Shelter-In-Place (SIP) for emergency incidents. Topics include factors to consider before issuing a SIP, types of sheltering, infiltration rates of typical construction, air replacement times, protection factors afforded, characteristics and provisioning of a SIP safe room and how to SIP.
