The American Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law for people with disabilities. Approximately 55 million Americans have physical or mental disabilities. Thirty-three percent of all people are employed. SH&E professionals must know and apply such elements as, reasonable accommodation, undue hardship and direct threat of safety.
