732  Small Businesses Leverage Resources to Create Effective Safety and Health Programs

Learn how small businesses worked with the Texas On-site Consultation Program and participated in the OSHA Challenge Pilot Program to implement effective safety and health management systems. The George D. Alan Company worked with the Texas On-site Consultation Program to implement a safety and health program and tailored a safety and health manual developed through the OSHA Alliance Program to meet their needs. Thomas & Marker Construction participated in the OSHA Challenge Pilot Program and achieved Voluntary Protection Program status. Both small businesses created safety and health programs that resulted in reduced workers’ compensation premiums and increased employee empowerment and morale.
