728  Responding to Residential Elemental Mercury Contamination

This case study involves a residential elemental mercury contamination incident in Rhode Island that resulted in evacuation of an entire apartment complex and subsequent investigation of 130 additional sites in 15 cities across two states. It analyzes the response and makes recommendations for changing federal guidelines and state response procedures.
