Organizations in all business sectors around the world use a variety of metrics to measure SH&E performance and benchmark with other similar companies in order to determine their performance improvements or deterioration over time. SH&E professionals are faced with critical decision-making regarding the use of leading or lagging indicators to achieve the desired organizational results.
