507  Defining Best Practices for Global Enterprise Safety Management

As globalization demands increase, organizations will be challenged to define higher safety standards for all elements of safety practice. Product stewardship requirements, such as REACH coupled with the Globally Harmonized System, are extending beyond OSHA's Hazard Communication standard. Process safety management standards have been broadened by the adoption of IEC 61511. Global companies will continue to prepare for and respond to the safety demands of global operations. Attendees of this session will:
Compare selected U.S. safety regulations and standards with comparable international requirements
Explore approaches for defining best practices for an organization based on disparities in standards
Look at pending regulatory issues to determine their potential impacts on the marketplace
