Safety is Killing Business |
| Description: Research has shown that productive organizations are also safe ones. How well founded is this in valid, scientific research? What about organizations with tight operating parameters, high-risk operations etc.? The session contends that in such tight organizations, the relationship does not hold up and it critically examines the research. It argues that safety has become such a dogmatic and overbearing process that it is forcing a culture of dependency, blind compliance and inflexibility – masked only by artificially high profits in industry. It may insidiously be killing innovation, and smothering improvement. Is safety killing our business? |
