Construction Can Be Hazardous to Your Health

Description: Construction projects are performed all around the world on a daily basis but what happens when inadequate building code requirements, lack of health and safety resources, improper site evaluation, poor work site planning and judgment, and miscommunication seriously affect the public and nearby workers. This is a case study of an airport terminal where airline workers and passengers were exposed to sensitizing agents. The affected workers suffered from contact dermatitis, chronic sinusitis, asthma, laryngitis, and bronchial spasms. One worker died from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
