Designing for Construction Worker Safety - Recent Activity and Available Resources for Designers

Description: Designing for Construction Worker Safety (DFCS), is a new idea developed by DOL-OSHA’s Alliance Program. DFCS is a process of addressing construction site safety in the design stage of a project. It requires the ability to identify potential hazards associated with construction and maintenance workers. The skill of the design professional is then applied to eliminate the hazard by incorporating appropriate design features. Various design tools and informational materials that can be accessed and used by design professionals and the construction industry will be presented.
