Sponsored by the Business of Safety Committee: The Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the SH&E Professional

Description: The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 was written with the intent of addressing some of the issues brought to light during recent incidents involving white collar crime. There is a clear impact on SH&E professionals, working at publicly traded companies and the law goes further than financial reporting requiring disclosure of company operations. An organization is required to report an operation that has an incident (safety, environmental or property) that may significantly impact the organization's financial soundness. This session will address these issues and provide strategies for successfully navigating this burgeoning area of corporate exposure.
