OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP): Implementation; Qualification; and Management at Your Site

Credit: 1 Day / .7 CEU / 1.0 IH CM Points #07-3858 / .44 CHMM CMP
Description: The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is an OSHA program which recognizes those sites with outstanding safety and health programs. This status can bring your organization: enhanced employee motivation to work safely; decreased Workers’ Compensation costs; and greater recognition in your community and industry. The VPP concept recognizes that compliance enforcement alone can never fully achieve the objectives of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Good safety management programs, like those at sites with VPP status, which go beyond OSHA standards can protect workers more effectively than programs limited to compliance. In this seminar, you will learn how you can format your organization’s safety efforts to become eligible for the VPP status.

Learn to
· Develop a plan for implementation of the steps required by OSHA to qualify for VPP
· Prepare for the OSHA Onsite Review for VPP status
· Conduct the annual VPP site self-reevaluation
