Description

This tour will provide an overview of Aquatica’s unique construction site with a water park in the progress of being built. Aquatica will be an interactive water park with animals and water features.

Requirements

Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel. Long pants must be worn; no shorts and Capri pants. Comfortable clothing should be worn for walking. Any other PPE will be provided by the tour host. No cameras, video or any other recording device. No weapons or ammunition of any type.

Description

What does it take to launch the space shuttle or an unmanned rocket? Take a driving tour around the Kennedy Space Center complex to learn how the complex is designed to move the various vehicles around the facility. You’ll learn the systems safety aspect of pulling all the components together for a successful launch including shuttle materials, astronaut training, complex launch scenarios and more. The tour will drive you through the complex as well as walk you through parts of the facility.

Requirements

No firearms of any type (with or without a permit), ammunition (live or spent), pepper/mace sprays, knives of any size, box cutters or like items, nail clippers with knife blades, any other sharp/pointed items, including pointed scissors or nail files. Coolers, luggage or other large bags are not permitted through the front gate.

All bags, purses and other items will be opened and inspected at the Visitor Complex. (Procedures to search all bags carried into the complex by visitors and employees are actions taken as part of the increase in security and not part of a specific threat to our facilities.)

All electronic devices such as digital cameras, MP3 players, mobile/cellular phones, video recorders, voice recorders and pagers must be in working condition before entering the complex. Devices that cannot be powered on, broken devices or devices without properly charged batteries will not be permitted through the front gate. Stand-alone GPS equipment is not permitted on property.

Comfortable clothing should be worn for walking.

Generating Electricity Safely (Orlando Utilities Commission Plant)

Description

This tour will be of the Stanton Energy Center, which is owned and operated by the Orlando Utilities Commission. There will be a presentation of how Coal Fired Electrical generating plant operates and how the safety program is used to manage the hazards in the business. Attendees will walk through the plant and view the equipment and systems used to generate electricity.

Requirements

All participants must have a federal or state issued photo ID. Company Ids are not acceptable. No cameras, large bags or photography permitted. Cell phones and voice recorders are allowed onsite but must be turned off and left on the bus during the tour. . All attendees must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. (Tee shirt or polo type shirt is acceptable)

All attendees must wear shoes made of leather and no open toed shoes or athletic shoes permitted. Unfortunately attendees with a physical handicap that impairs their ability to climb several flights of stairs or walk and stand for one hour cannot be accommodated. Protective headwear, hearing and eye protection will be provided.

Description

Discovery Cove is an interactive theme park where you can snorkel with fish and rays, have a dolphin encounter, feed birds, and see other marine animals up close in their natural environment. During the tour, you will learn how they create and maintain artificial seawater and how they control the water quality for the animals. The chemistry of the water environments will also be discussed. Tour will begin with a brief look at the park and then go behind the scenes to see how they create the various environments.

Description

During the tour, you will see behind the scenes of the Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show. The traditional side of safety will be explored including fall protection, confined spaces and fire protection. But the entertainment side of safety is a completely different element including precision driving, high stunt falls, weapons and explosives and even setting someone on fire. Learn how the design aspect of the show is approached and safety is created for the various stunt performances. After the backstage tour, you will enjoy this 35-minute action-packed show. Box lunch will be provided.

Requirements

There will be a short security check upon arrival to inspect bags – attendees will need ID such as driver’s license or military ID. Cameras can be used only during the show, not during the tour. There will be light to moderate walking so comfortable shoes and clothing should be worn. Shoes cannot be open-toe style, but tennis shoes are allowed. No firearms, explosives, etc.

Conference attendees are permitted to register for one educational tour as space permits. One ticket per registrant please. Sorry, no refunds for tour fees after June 15, 2007.
