Pre- and Post-Conference Seminars

One-, two-, and three-day seminars will be held before and after the PDC on June 21-24 and June 27-30.

Highlights

Choose from more than 40 topics scheduled for Pre- and Post-PDC seminars to:

• Earn up to 2.1 CEUs before and after the PDC
• Prepare for your ASP, CSP, CHST or CHMM exam
• Complete required seminars for the ASSE Certificate in Safety Management or the Executive Program in Safety Management or other seminars that will satisfy the elective requirement for these certificate programs
• Earn CM points to maintain your CIH
• Earn CHMM CMP points to maintain your CHMM
• Network with other safety professionals who are expanding their knowledge of technical topics, management techniques, and career-building skills

All seminars begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Early registration is encouraged as some classes will be limited in size.

Certification Preparation Workshops

• Pre-PDC: Three-day Certification Preparation Workshops for ASP (#231) and CSP (#232) and a one-day Math Review (#111).
• Post-PDC: Three-day Certification Preparation Workshop for ASP (#831), CSP (#832), CHST (#833), and special ½ day Math Review (#801); 2 ½ -day CHMM National Overview Course (#834)

Certificate in Safety Management

• Pre-PDC: Safety Management I (#233) and Corporate Safety Management (#234)
• Post-PDC: Safety Management II (#821)

Executive Program in Safety Management

• Pre-PDC: Managing the Business Aspects of Safety (#235)

Seminars are applicable as electives for the ASSE Certificate in Safety Management and the ASSE Executive Program in Safety Management. Seminars qualify for .7 CEU for a one-day seminar, 1.4 CEUs for a two-day seminar and 2.1 CEUs for a three-day seminar. See individual seminar descriptions for CM and CHMM CMP approval.

To receive CEUs, attendees need to be present for the education hours of the seminar(s) selected and participate in all learning activities provided by the instructor(s).

ASSE has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider of continuing education and training programs by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

Registration includes seminar materials, seminar roster, certificate of completion, coffee/soft drink breaks, and CEU recordation.

One Stop Registration

Please note, Pre-Conference Seminar attendees who are also registered for the PDC will be able to pick up their PDC registration kit at the Pre-Conference Seminar registration desk.

Briefcases for PDC registrants will be available for pickup after 10:00 am, Sunday, June 24.

Certification Preparation Workshops and Math Review

Workbooks

A workbook is given to each attendee for use in class and for follow-up study. The workbook contains many sample problems, copies of the PowerPoint presentation used in the workshop, and additional definitions. This information will serve as a study guide for examination preparation after the workshop.

Calculators

Instructors request each attendee bring a scientific calculator to class, such as a TI 36X or equivalent. Only these brands and models of calculators will be allowed for use during the examinations administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals: Texas Instruments: TI-30, TI-34, TI-35, TI-36; Casio: FX-115, FX-250, FX-260, FX-300; Hewlett Packard: hp 9, hp 10, hp 12, hp 30. Different versions of the above brands and models will be permitted. For example, the TI-36X and hp 30s calculators will be allowed, as they are versions of the permitted brands and models.

AIHA/ACHMM members are eligible for a $30 discount off the non-member rate for pre- and post- seminars.

Group registrants are eligible for the following discounts off the member or non-member rate for pre- and post- seminars.:

• $25 off one day seminars
• $50 off two and three day seminars

On-Site Registration is $25 additional per seminar.
