Continuing Education Units (CEU) Information

ASSE has received accreditation from the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET) as an Authorized Provider of CEUs. Through this accreditation, ASSE can offer its Chapters, Regions, and Practice Specialties CEUs for education events that satisfy the criteria and guidelines established by the IACET.

To apply for CEUs, please download the Application for Continuing Education Units. Complete each section and provide information as appropriate to support each item on the application.

Earn an Additional COC!

In October 2005, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals announced that CSPs who complete a safety-related certificate program containing two or more seminars may earn one COC in addition to the COCs earned for the seminars contained in the program.

CSPs can earn an additional COC for completing the:

• ASSE Certificate in Safety Management
• The Executive Program in Safety Management

Both of ASSE's certificate programs are eligible for the additional COC. If you have been considering participating in these programs, this is an excellent time to begin. If you have completed some portion of these programs, we can assist you in scheduling the remainder of your seminars so that you can receive this bonus COC. Contact ASSE Customer Service at 847-699-2929 for details.

CHMM Credit – The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) has pre-approved certain ASSE seminars for CHMM recertification credit. Seminars which have been pre-approved list the number of CHMM CMPs with the seminar description. ASSE will certify and maintain a record of your attendance. A copy of your Certificate of Completion for the seminar may be used for claiming CMPs towards your CHMM recertification.
