This course will increase the skills of safety professionals as they face the challenges of management responsibility in a corporation. You will learn:

  • Design your safety management system to support the business objectives of your organization
  • Operate your safety function most advantageously within your organization
  • Gain management and non-management support for your safety responsibility
  • Use proven techniques to negotiate within the business structure
  • Measure the performance of your safety program
  • Make adjustments to your safety effort in response to changes in your organization such as mergers and reorganizing

This course will provide a foundation of fundamental elements and techniques for managing an effective safety system. You will learn:

  • Implementation of effective, proven system elements of a safety management system
  • Development of policy statements and performance standards to assist the management team in carrying out its safety responsibilities
  • Using approaches to selling safety to various levels in the organization
  • Conducting safety with recognition of the moral, financial and legal responsibilities
  • Practicing techniquXes to establish accountability for safety efforts
  • Budgeting for a safety management program
