PLATFORM STATEMENT

It is an honor and privilege to run for Region V Vice President representing the great states of America’s heartland. I am passionate about safety, and have been successful in my career because of my integrity, leadership, and ability to listen and learn. I want to use these skills to serve and represent this region.

ASSE is a great society and presents many opportunities for involvement. Our mission statement says we are a member-driven association supporting the protection of people, property and the environment. This mission cannot be fulfilled without the involvement of our chapters and membership. I will serve our region - assisting each chapter and their members in accomplishing their goals and objectives in line with the strategic plan of the Society. As that great philosopher Anonymous said, “The difference between ‘extraordinary’ and ‘ordinary’ is just a little ‘extra’. I will work with our members to find that extra and make us the premiere region in the Society.

I also believe the role of the RVP is to be the voice of the chapters and members in our region to the Board of Directors. My role is to ensure chapter officers are fully aware of the activities of the Board and Society that may have an impact on their individual chapters and the safety profession as a whole. I would serve as a sounding board for new ideas and challenging problems, and roll up my sleeves to work out problems with the chapters.

As the Japanese proverb says, “Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” I want to help put action into your vision and vision into your actions for the betterment of your chapter and the safety profession. I’m asking for, and appreciate, your vote for RVP for Region V. Thank you.
